NC NAACP and Forward Together Moral Movement to Challenge General Assembly's Immoral and Extreme Agenda, Which Fast-Tracks Bill to Protect Confederate Monuments but Stands Still and Refuses to Protect North Carolinians at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 24
DURHAM, NC - At 10 a.m. on Friday, July 24, the NC NAACP and Forward Together Moral Movement will hold a news conference to challenge the continued sale of Confederate license plates as well as the Confederate monument bill passed by the NC General Assemblyon Tuesday, currently waiting on Gov. Pat McCrory's desk for approval. They will call on Gov. McCrory to veto this bill and to use his gubernatorial authority to ban North Carolina's Confederate license plates.
The NC NAACP and Forward Together Moral Movement will underscore the General Assembly's immoral and extreme agenda, which fast-tracks a bill to protect Confederate monuments but stands still and refuses to protect North Carolinians.
They will also announce plans for an upcoming 'Protect the People' Moral Mondayprotest.
The news conference will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 24, at the NC NAACP office in Durham.
