NC NAACP 73rd State Convention Rescheduled for October 27th–29th
Dear NC NAACP Members and Friends:
Due to the National Weather Station’s projections of Hurricane Matthew’s possible devastation of Eastern North Carolina, where many of our members live and work, the Executive Committee of the NC NAACP decided to postpone our 73rd Annual NC NAACP Convention. The rescheduled date for the 73rd Annual Convention is October 27th- October 29th.
Our primary concern is the safety and well being of all our neighbors in Eastern North Carolina, and for all people who might be vulnerable to what may be a horrific storm. We will turn our attention to helping our Eastern Branches, churches and friends in dealing with the storm.
We thank everyone who has been working for weeks for the exciting convention program, the Romulus Murphy Continuing Legal Education Clinic, our wonderful speakers, and the workers at the Raleigh Convention Center and Macedonia New Life Church. All locations remain the same for the new Convention dates.
The health and safety of our neighbors comes first. I look forward to seeing you in Raleigh October 27th-29th!
“It’s Our Time! It’s Our Vote!”
Yours in Love & Justice,
Rev.Dr. William J. Barber, II
President, NC NAACP
