Join us on March 21st 2017 for the Forward Together Moral Advocacy and People's Legislative Day at the NC General Assembly, 16 West Jones St. Raleigh, NC!
Dear North Carolina NAACP members:
We hope that you are gearing up to attend the 2017 Winter Session for mandatory training, which will be held on April 1, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the John D. Fuller, Sr. Recreational/Athletic Complex, 6627 Old Bunce Road, Fayetteville, NC. The Humanitarian Banquet, following the training at 7 p.m., will be held at the Embassy Suites at the 4760 Lake Valley Drive, Fayetteville NC. The honoree will be announced at a later date.
Participation by ALL officers of the NC NAACP local units in training is mandatory. It is imperative that all NAACP local leaders---elected and appointed---are properly trained in the policies, procedures and practices of the NAACP (the nation’s oldest civil rights organization) and are informed and properly equipped as “justice fighters and game changers” of the 21st Century civil rights and social justice movement. Enclosed is the Registration Form to be returned by March 15, 2017. Our youth are key to the strength and sustainability of our organization and every civil rights movement. Please make sure that your Youth Council is prepared to be in attendance for the entire day.
Winter Session mandatory training is a requirement for all branch officers and executive committee members to attend. This year in particular your attendance is critical for our strategy of Moral Resistance. The NAACP Board of Directors recently announced a resolution calling for an international economic boycott of the state of North Carolina in response to actions of an all-white legislative caucus, which unconstitutionally designed racially-discriminatory gerrymandered districts, enacted a monster voter suppression law, passed Senate Bill 4 stripping the incoming Governor of power and passed House Bill 2. HB 2 is anti-LGBTQ, anti-worker and anti-access to the state court for employment discrimination.
May God continue to guide, protect and sustain you in your work. We are looking forward to seeing you at the training on April 1.
Yours in the spirit of justice and peace,
Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II
President, North Carolina NAACP

4:00 p.m at Congressional Offices Across the State
On Monday, February 27th, the North Carolina NAACP and Forward Together Moral Movement will continue our Moral Resistance campaign to hold our elected officials accountable at the state and federal level in 2017 with visits to the offices of our two Senators and thirteen members of Congress
At each location, we will hold news conferences at 4:00 p.m. and serve a letter of demands and request a public Town Hall before the end of March. Our elected officials are constitutionally obligated to govern for the good of the whole and must be accountable to the people
